This gets the job done and then some!Lightweight in design, the 20v max brushless impact was made for those long days at work. And no need to worry about the battery life, as the lithium ion battery stays charged for a very long time. You’ll get tires before this impact ever does. It drives even the most stubborn screws with ease. I am so happy I chose DeWalt. I will absolutely continue to buy DeWalt in the future.

Great PerformanceWhen I had to replace my deck last year my friend arrived with this impact driver. After 30 minutes of watching him work I had to go out an buy my own to finish the job. This impact driver performed flawlessly when I had to replace most of the boards in my 12 x 28 deck—16 foot boards on a 45 degree angle. This tool made short work of installing not only the deck boards, it also allowed for easy installation of half a dozen header boards we had to add for support. This impact driver allowed us to easily secure the deck screws into the pressure treated lumber in short order. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Light weight with a bright lightI loved this impact it has earned it’s worth 10 fold but as we all know all good things must come to an end and the impact slowly was put to rest thank you dewalt for the great tools you put out currently in the market for another impact as well as a drill since both of mine had spun there last screw [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This thing is toughI’ve been using this driver for about a year and a half, with a 6ah battery. I get about a week off one charge for drywall work, and a full day per charge driving 3″ screws into treated wood. It slid off a 2 story roof and came completely apart, pieces everywhere… I put it back together, and it’s STILL WORKING. Skips a beat here and there, but I can still build an entire deck with it. So much more power! As a Habitat for Humanity affiliate, we build two to four new affordable homes a year. This year, thanks to the generous support of many, our tool budget allowed us to trade a rag-tag collection of power tools for all new DeWalt 20V Max devices. Our new Compact 1/4″ impacts, 12 of them, are on the job three days a week. There is no comparison with our previous tools. These DeWalt Atomic 20V Max brushless impacts speed up our work and are safer, too. The ability to select any of three power levels is very handy, too, because sometimes you don’t need all that power! WE also bought new 20V Max 6-1/2″ circular saws, 20V Max Drills and multi-tools. We’re so pleased with the performance from our 5Ah batteries, too. DeWalt makes a big difference to Habitat for Humanity. Thank you! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Nice and Light with quick lockI work in the powerlines trade and was needed a impact. I was in a tight decision with the dewalt and Milwaukee. For the price I went with dewalt and I am not disappointed. I hooked up that bad boy up to a 5ah battery and literally lasted me weeks. It’s nice and light, the LEDs are bright. Works amazing!I bought one of these a few years back and it works amazing. I love it! Batteries last great! Powerful enough for everything I’ve needed it for. I liked it so much I bought another one. Works fantastic and couldn’t be happier [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Awesome Tool!I bought the non-brushless awhile back as a starter and with all the work I do now I decided to retire it and buy the brushless version. World of difference. I wish I would have done it sooner. It makes the job go quicker and saves battery. Would recommend spending the extra money to buy this even if you’re only a weekend warrior. Use sparinglyI use an impact non stop at work at 8 hours a day 5 days a week. After extensively searching articles and videos I purchased this impact driver, but there was no reviews for using it all day long. The only thing I could find was the classic youtube videos of guys running lags. (big help)
Being the proud owner of an 887 for a stupid amount of years…what could go wrong with an upgrade?
Now remember, this impact is going through the ringer all day, but just incase someone else find themselves in the same position as me…dont buy this product.
Problems after 6 months
Gun lacks power (fine its atomic, ill give it to dewalt)
Gun makes very strange noises occasionally
Batteries dont last long
(batteries Ive tried=
5amp-too heavy for all day use
4amp compact-best option so far, change batteries 3 times in 1 work day
powerstack-maybe try the new battery for better results?
no, battery lasted 1:30 minutes
and the absolute worse thing this impact does that drives me insane….
it kicks into reverse randomly, many times in a day
so, if your looking to grab something you dont use often.?!?
maybe this will work for you, but if you depend on it heavy all day to get cash money to support your family..maybe the 850. idk, Id hate to get another disappointing gun
