A nice tool for small tasks. It’s a nice tool for small tasks and hobbyist work. It runs smooth and is easy to handle. The battery takes only about an hour to fully charge. You may want to purchase additional bits

Never ending uses[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had my dremel for about a year and a half and have used it on so many projects. I enjoy the quick change bits for my sanding disk and cutoff wheels. The level of detail that can be achieved with the wide variety of bits and accessories(with practice)is amazing. It’s used on all types of materials, my most common are store and wood. The more I use it the more I enjoy it. Thanks Dremel. Can’t wait to see what’s next..

Great DemelI am very satisfied with this cordless Dremel, I have an older a/c powered Dremel and find it not as versatile and convenient as the cordless one.

A Real Work Horse[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] IMHO you’ll almost never need to use a corded Dremel. The 8220 does it all. If the chuck was bigger I wouldn’t need a drill. I do a lot of metal and plastic fabrication. Build antennas and hand etch prototype circuit boards and much much more. The Dremel is the tool for you.

My most used tool, i need it at my side always![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do a lot of small projects at home, and this is by far my most used tool, from sanding to routing, to drilling small holes or cleaning up, you name it, this thing can do it. It also comes with a keyless chuck so you don’t have to change the collett size to suit your bits, and in terms of convenience this is awesome and makes all the difference in the world! The adjustable speed takes a little time to get use to, and at most i go almost 50% but you want to slide it very slowly because it will switch into high gear fast if you’re not careful. Honestly 100% speed in my opion is way too much for anything i could think of using it for, perhaps some engraving work with detail bits but you shouldn’t need to kick it up that high for much else. The battery life is so so, but i have two 12v batteries so i just swap them off the charger after each use, and so I’ve never had a problem with keeping it powered up, and it charges pretty fast, fast enough to where if you need to swap out again it will already be fully charged by the time you drain your current battery. One important note to remember about this dremel is you don’t want to slow the motor with any kind of friction, the stopping force is not too bad for a wireless model, but of course you’ll have a higher threshold on the stop force with a corded tool due to nature of voltage and current characteristics. So in turn, applying a lot of stopping force will heat it up quickly, which is a big no no for any motor. Make sure to read the label on your 8220, because there are some restrictions to what you can attach on it. Not a whole lot but importantly nonetheless. I think I’ve covered the vital info on owning an 8220 dremel, at least to provide enough info to base a selection on it, but i need to also add that from my experience, dremel has an outstanding customer service support center! When i inquired on some concerns, it was easy fast with no hassle and the rep was very informative and knew her products. I have not run into much companies that provided as much support as she did for Dremel, so I even wrote to Dremel a recognition of her services. Thanks again for the great experience yall!

Has the power. You can got to Home Depot and pick up a battery operated Dremel, but it will be the lower voltage model. I did that and was unhappy with the results, just not enough power. This will cut like the one with the power cord. A world of difference. Now for the bad part, Dremel didn’t do themselves any favors with the attachments that come with this saw, just 1 cutting blade. Thank goodness I had extra’s from the power cord model.
