Hoover Power Scrub FH50135 is No Frills & GREAT!Wanted to replace Bissell ProHeat. All I had left was my portable spot cleaner. Shopped around until I found this no frills Hoover. I’m so glad I bought it! It’s basic with no bells & whistles. But that’s all you need. We have 2 14 year old cats & there’s 2 of us. We can all be very messy.
After much research, I found this Hoover at my local Walmart. It did an excellent job on our family room carpet. Cleaned heavy traffic area spots as well as cat urp spots that never came clean my little spot cleaner.
Hoover’s basic design is almost the same with every model. However, Hoover made it simple on this one with 2 tanks & no switches or buttons. No dual clean water tank. A lot less to worry about. Clean water has a plug that turns to lock, dirty water tank is VERY easy to clean. On/off and the recline foot lever. Lever on handle for spraying solution. That’s IT. Love that the accessories are stored in a bag that hangs on a hook or hanger. No bulky hose to get in the way. I will only attach the hose when I need it. The unit is not terribly loud.
READ THE MANUAL and PREP. Vacuum well before use. I plan to only use the Hoover solutions. 1 small bottle came w/the unit but I used Hoover Clean Plus. I’m very impressed. There is very little/no smell w/the solution. I did passes with solution & then did a water rinse only afterwards. Took about 90 min but I took my time & let the Hoover move slowly & did 2 passes in the heaviest traffic areas. I have read reviews about water leakage. This could be due to not having the dirty water tank lid locked on correctly. Also read about lots of soap. I didn’t notice that but I used only 3 oz in each tank plus I did that rinse only with plain HOT water. That rinse only really left the carpet soft to the touch. I really like the spin brush technology much better than the other kind. It really helped to bring the nap of the carpet back to life. No after-smell with the Hoover solution. Feels almost dry after about 1.5 hours.
I knew the carpet needed to be cleaned but WOW. I had no idea! See photo of dirty water. Also provided 1 of the carpet – dirty on left, clean on right after only 1 pass. Yikes!
I recommend this Hoover model for its simplicity alone. I love the simple design with smaller footprint. Easy to store. Lightweight. I won’t dread cleaning the carpet now because this is so easy to use. I am SO impressed. Price was right. I plan to take very good care of this one so it will last a long time!! Now on to the basement carpet!!

I would purchase this again if need be.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received and assembled the unit and right away put it to use. I have some very stubborn stains that are still there, but I consider that normal because they have been there for over 20 years and only a miracle will get them completely clean. I ordered a solution with Oxy Clean and I’m hoping that it will do the trick. Other than that, I am completely satisfied with the job it did on the rest of the carpets, considering the age of them. Very easy to operate and the instructions are very easy to follow.

This IS the shampooer to get!Purchased this shampooer because at my newly constructed home there is a lot of red clay dirt. I had purchase a lovely area rug with white in it. I didn’t know anything about red clay dirt, but it showed up everywhere, no matter how well we thought we wiped our feet. Especially on my new rug. So after using this product, I had to stop and take a picture of the cleaning power of this machine. I can now breath easier knowing that I can clean the rug to look new again.

Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Cleaner Review[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the older model Cleaner and purchased this newer model. The Newer model is lighter due to the redesign and does move more freely when using. The newer model has both water and cleaner compartments which is an improvement. The only let down is that the older model cleaner had the benefit of the hose and detachments stored on the unit where the newer model has to store these in a bag that can hang on the unit or put somewhere else giving the possibility of misplacing it. In this respect the older model is much better. I like both units and the newer model is a little easier to use.

Wish the wand workedThe wand attachment stopped working within five minutes of use and does not spray anything at all only the suction part works. The bottom part of the vacuum works well but I will be returning since I wanted to also be able to clean my furniture upholstery. Bummed. You can see the clean part of the rug vs the part that was filthy. Don’t get this if you are wanting to use the wand attachment.

SKEPTICAL TO BUY ANOTHER ONEBought machine this spring & use weekly due to 3 dogs. I loved how well it cleans but black plastic has broken off from inside & you don’t have parts on site to replace. It’s not a year old yet. Sadly I can’t bring myself to buy another one if I can’t easily find replacement parts. Not sure why such thin fragile plastic would be used where bearing casing is. I knew something was wrong with machine when while using, plastic pieces were coming out bottom and I could smell a rubber like burning smell. I just want my machine to work.!!

DO NOT BUY THE STAND UP OR HAND HELD UNITSI have both this stand up unit and the hand held smaller unit. The design of the stand up unit is INSANE! There is a screen in the base of the machine that needs to be cleaned but when I wet to clean it it simply fell apart. I went on the chat on this site to find the part number. And they don’t sell it. It is not designed to be replaced I came to find out. It’s made to destroy your machine and force you to rent or buy new. I’m beyond frustrated. Oh and the hand held unit just quit. Dead. Too. Just was on and then off like the power went our. Sounds like a fuse. But where a fuse on that unit is I have no idea. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE by anything but Hoover.
