Boring but AMAZINGThese sets to me are extremely boring and repetitive when following the instructions. However these art sets get a high rating from me. I hadn’t purchased a lego product since the early ’90s until I saw this Marilyn set. I had to have it to learn how lego created it. I am a successful pop artist and wanted to turn some of my work into Lego art. I have purchased five of the Marilyn sets and three of The Beatles sets as well as ordered a TON of tiles and plates to create my own custom artwork.
The way Lego can be used to create modern art is the coolest thing about Lego. Please, Lego, do not discontinue the art set and please expand on the potential of these sets.

So awesomeYes the projects are a bit repetitive BUT the finished product is well worth it. After I built the original, I purchased 3 more immediately and finished them same week.
Took about 10 hours collectively, but I’m so happy with it. Now just need to get them on the wall
You also have about 850 single pieces left over from each set, so you could get another board and get use them to get creative.
Lego, keep doing things like this. SOOOOOOO beautiful!

Great Concept well executedThis is a great start to the Lego Art sector. I think this is an excellent choice, as it fits the form and style. I think that Roy Lichtenstein would have been a more obvious Pop Art choice, but there may have been size limitation. I have seen some original pieces at the local Lego store, so looking forward to more Lego Art.
One tip, there is a 5th version of the Marilyn that is not in th instructions. It is Blond on Blue background.

Art Comes To Life!!If you’re a Warhol fan, you definitely need this in your collection! Absolutely love the fact that there are 4 different versions and you have the choice to pick your favorite! Personally, I chose to build the one featured on the box, but added blue eye shadow instead of pink – truly unique.
Thanks again Lego for supporting the art community, it’d be awesome to see some other famous painters to be featured next!
Cheers

So AwesomeLego continues to take it to the next level! This is beautiful in the picture, but even better in real life. Easy to follow instructions, relaxing, and satisfying. Lego was smart in their choice of people/characters in the Lego Art line. It appeals to all ages. I purchased this set along with the Beatles set. The finished product is sturdy and comes with special Lego brackets to hang on the wall.

Love this set.Makes such a cute picture. I worked on this with my kids and it is kind of a relaxing build. We did the box cover image switching #3 for #6 to tone down all that pink. Looks amazing 😉

Three missing pieces…I finished her face and I’m missing three of the # 6 color. I’ve gone back through and made sure I did it all right and I have. I loved putting it together and it wasn’t too hard, but it was a bummer seeing I’m missing some and I’m hoping I am not missing any other pieces. I was thinking about buying three more, but I’m not so sure.

Beautiful and unique but missing piecesSimple yet eye catching on any wall but the blue face with yellow background is missing 8 blue pieces.

Marilyn bluesI was excited the other day to find out that Lego came out with LEGO Art. I decided to rush to the closest Lego store this morning to get it. At first it was a toss between the Iron man and Warhol. I ended up getting the Warhol since it’s a timeless piece and different from all my Lego technic collections.
The packaging seems pretty basic and nothing fancy. The pop art color scheme made it easier to put together the pieces. The build experience was more like putting a puzzle rather than the usual lego build. It’s rated 18+ but definitely can be catered for younger age group in my opinion.
I started putting together the Marilyn’s blue face piece with yellow background. We’ll out of luck, I came to realize im missing 11 blue studs and 1 side frame. Now Im wondering if the other 3 sets have missing pieces as well. I’ll definitely go back to the store tomorrow. But now my excitement is gone. I wont be surprised if I decide to just return them. Maybe exchange it for a second set of my Sian Lambo.
